BIP-110 is a Bitcoin proposal to restrict non-financial data in transactions for a year. It asked for 55% of hashrate to signal support and peaked near 2.6%, and nodes running it began rejecting blocks that did not signal at height 961,632 on 8 August 2026. That is the moment the chain split. This chain is the BIP-110 branch; the majority chain carried on under SHA-256d, unaffected.
The proof-of-work change is a separate, later decision on this branch. On 30 August 2026 it moved from SHA-256d to BLAKE2b with a Sia-style header: block 961,639 was the last SHA-256d block and 961,640 the first BLAKE2b one. Everything else is still Bitcoin — the 21 million cap, the halving schedule, script, addresses, and every block of history before the split.
So “BIP-110” is what people call this chain, but BLAKE2b is what decides your hardware. Any ASIC built for Siacoin mines here on stock firmware; no SHA-256 machine can produce a valid share at all. Because the pre-split history is shared with Bitcoin, generate a fresh address for this chain and keep SHA-256 keys well clear. Lazarus Pool mines it with TIDES payouts in the coinbase and pays a subsidy to DATUM miners.

Master 7491a50 — StartOS pow_0.4.1_23 ships the same commit. A found block pays the whole window: every BLAKE2b miner gets the 16 KB coinbase. If the pool split is late, one job can still pay only the pool.

The DATUM bonus.The public stratum pays a 15% fee. Seven and a half points of it is not kept by the pool: on every block found it is credited to every DATUM miner holding work in the window, pro rata by DATUM work. It lands on your balance whether or not your address made that block’s coinbase, and is paid with your next output once it clears the minimum. Small gateways get their exact share; nobody is skipped.

Build the gateway, merge the stratum and datum sections above into its config, and set mining.pool_address to your payout address. Leftover value the split does not name goes there. Stock DATUM defaults stratum.vardiff_min to 16384 if you omit it — that is the floor and the start, and Prime cannot lower it. Set 4096 so new sessions start there; vardiff still climbs for faster boxes.
Point miners at your gateway’s stratum (usually stratum+tcp://127.0.0.1:23334). Username address.worker: the part before the first . is who gets paid and must be an address this chain accepts.
Watch your gateway appear under Gateways and your address under Miners. Stock builds can still publish a job whose coinbase omits the window: current iohzrd, CONVOY, and FlyTheElephant only if the pool split is late. Older FlyTheElephant / OCEAN-lineage v0.4.1-beta builds (no +lazarus-split) still do it on the first job of every height. Prime accepts that work and, if such a job found a block, records what the pool then owes the window.

Solo is a bet, not a wage. Your shares buy you nothing — they only prove you are working. When one of them is a block, that block’s entire reward goes to the address in your username, less our fee, paid in that block’s own coinbase. Until then you earn nothing, however long you mine. Pooled mining pays you a steady share of every block the pool finds; solo pays you rarely and enormously. Most miners should stay pooled.

Proof of work, in one minute
Miners race to find a number that makes a block’s hash fall below a target. It is pure trial and error, so the only way to win more often is to do more hashes. That cost is what makes rewriting the chain expensive. Difficulty retargets so blocks keep arriving at a steady pace however much hashrate joins.
At block 961,640 (30 August 2026) this chain changed its proof of work from SHA-256d to BLAKE2b. Supply, halvings, addresses and every earlier block are unchanged. BLAKE2b is what Siacoin ASICs were built for, so that hardware mines here.
On an ordinary pool, the pool decides what goes in the block. With your own DATUM gateway and Bitcoin Knots node, you build the block template and the pool only coordinates the reward. That keeps block-building spread across many hands. Here it costs 0% and earns a bonus.
TIDES keeps a rolling window of accepted shares worth about eight network-difficulties of work. When the pool finds a block, every address holding work in the window is paid its proportion. There are no rounds to hop between and nothing resets when a block lands.
The pool never holds your coins. Each payout is an output of the block’s own coinbase, sent to your address. There is no balance, no threshold and no withdrawal, and anyone can check every payout on chain.
The public stratum is held to 15% of network hashrate. Past that, new stratum connections are relayed to other pools and paid there. Miners on their own DATUM gateway are never counted, because building your own templates is not what centralizes a chain.
Get a payout address. Any wallet that gives you a bc1… address on this chain. That address is your username; there is nothing to register.
Run your own node. Bitcoin Knots for this chain, with server=1 and a cookie or RPC user your gateway can read. Your node is what chooses the transactions in your blocks.
Start a DATUM gateway. Build one (iohzrd is the recommended build), paste in the Lazarus host, port and pubkey from the Connect page, and set mining.pool_address to your address.
Point your miner at your gateway. Any Siacoin BLAKE2b ASIC, aimed at your own gateway’s stratum port, with the username address.worker.

You hash, the pool counts
Point a miner at the public stratum, or at a DATUM gateway you run. Either way your username is your Bitcoin address. Every share you send is rebuilt into a full BLAKE2b header and hashed by Prime; accepted work is credited to your address in the TIDES window.

The window decides the split
The window holds the last 8 × network difficulty of accepted work — days of pool work at typical hashrate, not the last hour. A found block pays each address in proportion to its share of that window, less its fee. A new rig starts near 0% and ramps as its work enters and older work ages out.

The block pays you directly
Prime hands every gateway the same coinbase output list — the one shown under Next payout. A share whose coinbase pays anything else is refused, so whoever finds the block, it pays the window. There is no pool balance to withdraw and no operator to trust with your coins.

No single pool should hold a third of this chain. We cap our own stratum at 15% of the network; hashrate behind a miner’s own DATUM gateway builds its own blocks and is not counted. Past that line, new stratum connections are relayed to one of these pools and paid there. Each one lets you build your own block through a DATUM gateway and pays by a TIDES window, so splitting your fleet across them costs you nothing in principle. Keep one as a failover in your miner either way.

Maveth’s TIDES pool. Zero fee through your own gateway; the SV1 skim is variable (currently 1%) and half of it goes back to live DATUM miners as STRATUM BOOST. Prefers a CONVOY gateway with the largest-coinbase patch.
